Quail Run Golf Course is OPEN for play at this time! To help everybody understand & navigate through these difficult times, we want to share some of the changes and adjustments we are making here.
Following yesterday’s announcement from the Governor’s office, the Pacific Northwest Section PGA received this message regarding the status of golf facilities:
“Golf is allowed as long as the social distancing measures are in place, country club activities for a gathering would not be allowed. We categorized golf similar to a hike or outdoor activity, rather than through “essential travel” which is meant to stop vacations.”
Leah Horner, Regional Solutions Director, Jobs & Economy Policy Advisor, Office of Governor Kate Brown
Here at Quail Run we are taking all necessary measures to keep staff and players safe. These cautionary measures include but are not limited to:
-Controlling the amount of persons allowed in the golf shop area and prohibiting “loitering” or gatherings in any areas. We are encouraging “social distancing” as much as possible for all staff and players. Please try to maintain a minimum of 6′ feet from others at all times.
-Any food purchases are for take-out only; no seated dining (including outside areas.)
-All commonly touched surfaces will be frequently cleaned and disinfected throughout the work day.
-Changes have been made to the course play as well: no touching of flagsticks, bunker rakes have been removed, carts are allowed and can be rented as single rider only, cups are turned upside down to avoid contact at the hole, and any other changes we deem necessary for safe recreation at this time.
-Scores can still be posted during this time of modified rules. Please see this link for more info on this from the USGA.
However, to minimize groups and contact, Quail Run will not have a computer available for posting scores until further notice. Players may post there scores from home at this site (GHIN required):
Also, to avoid sizable gatherings we are suspending Men’s & Women’s Club tournaments & activities indefinitely until it’s safe to to allow them again.
We all hope that golf can continue to be a source of recreation and exercise during this time when everybody needs to be safe and practicing “social distancing” to stop the spread of this pandemic. If you do come play (and we hope you do!), please be understanding and do your part to help maintain a safe environment for everybody.
See you on the course! (from a safe distance!)
